    Universal Orlando Resort

By Wasatch Peaks on July 9, 2019

Comprised of Universal Studios Florida, Universal’s Islands of Adventure and Universal's Volcano Bay, Universal Orlando Resort is more than just “Harry Potter World.” While that is a huge draw and is worth seeing, there is a whole lot more to do.

Universal Orlando Resort - Three Theme Parks

Universal Studios Florida is your stop for behind-the-scenes adventures from many of your favorite films and shows. Here you’ll find a variety of attractions for all ages, including Harry Potter, Men In Black and Transformers themed rides. Some other popular attractions in Universal Studios Florida include the following:

    • Despicable Me Minion Mayhem
    • Woody Woodpecker’s Nuthouse Coaster
    • Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts
    • E.T. Adventure

Universal’s Islands of Adventure is every superhero fans’ dream come true. Meet many of your favorite Marvel characters here and enjoy the theme park TripAdvisor rated #1 in the world. Here are some of the highlights found in Islands of Adventure:

    • Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure *NEW in 2019*
    • The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman
    • The Incredible Hulk Coaster
    • Doctor Doom’s Fearfall
    • Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey
    • Flight of the Hippogriff
    • Caro-Seuss-el

Universal’s Volcano Bay is a family-friendly water park that centers around Krakatau, a man-made volcano. Enjoy waterslides, lazy rivers, pools and splash areas. You can rent cabanas or simply lounge on chairs surrounding the water areas. Volcano Bay distributes TapuTapu wristbands to guests each day, with which you can virtually secure a place in line for some of the rides and enjoy other attractions while you wait. TapuTapu bands can also be used to make purchases with linked debit cards, and interact with selfie-spots in Volcano Bay. Here’s a sampling of the rides and attractions in this park:

    • Tot Tiki Reef - An interactive splash pad for toddlers
    • Puka Uli Lagoon - A leisure pool with water play
    • Punga Racers - Race to the pool riding mats down this waterslide
    • Ohyah & Ohno Drop Slides - A set of water slides with a four-foot drop into the pool below
    • Raki of Taniwha Tubes - Use the tubes provided and ride this waterslide to the pool

Universal Orlando Resort - Ticket Options

Although there are three separate parks at Universal Orlando Resort, it is fairly easy to navigate between all of them. As a result, there are a few ticket options for Universal Orlando Resort so you can choose to visit one park per day, or go between a combination of the parks.

Base Tickets: A base ticket allows entry to one park per day. You can choose 2-Park Base Tickets or 3-Park Base Tickets. With 2-Park Base Tickets, you have admission to one park per day, and can choose between Universal Studios Florida or Universal’s Islands of Adventure. With 3-Park Base Tickets, you have admission to one park per day, and Universal’s Volcano Bay becomes an option. You cannot visit Volcano Bay with any 2-Park ticket option, so keep that in mind.

Park-to-Park Tickets: Park-to-Park tickets allow entry to more than one park per day. You can choose 2-Park Park-to-Park Tickets or 3-Park Park-to-Park Tickets. Just like the Base Tickets, a 2-Park Park-to-Park ticket grants admission to Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure. If you’d like to include Volcano Bay, you’ll need to purchase 3-Park Park-to-Park Tickets. Additionally, Park-to-Park Tickets are required to ride the Hogwarts Express since there is one station in Universal Studios Florida and one station in Universal’s Islands of Adventure.
